Every leader has to face time when they realize what they are saying is able to change the tide. Sometimes meltdowns or corporate crises reduce concern and strengthen trust. In other cases, behaviors may be introduced or new procedures may be introduced during new leadership or change initiatives. When every eye is watching – and everyone seems to have to find some sort of effective communication from soft skill to the top management tool.

I believe that communication is always more than a soft skill. This is a basic skill, yet a strategic skill. This is undeniably the most important leadership you can be. After all, communication leads the relationship and deepens relationships – and the success of the organization really falls on people and what they can accomplish. Almost every business problem can be solved through communication. Why? Since communication is what ultimately hinders the way, resolve conflicts and more than one mind is working with the solutions.

What makes the leader more effective communicator? What are the key elements that will lead your leadership communication with the many screws and turns on every road? This starts with mastering the basics – the bricks that help to create a foundation for powerful leadership communication.

Integrating strong communication between the four CSs helps to increase leadership:


Effective communication is clear and streamlined. Drop the jargon and the invincibles. Do not explain it anymore. Do not leave room for interpretation. Have courage open, straightforward and clear. Tell me what you want. Tell me what to expect. Specify Deadlines and Desired Results

In today's business environment, e-mail is the primary platform where we see unclear communication. How many times did you pass through long or misleading messages, where is the cemetery buried? Or how can multiple emails be sent to you, and there is no clear action item or identified action provider?

This is also the case. How often did you hear a manager wanting to say he wanted to make some progress sometime? Or did you hear a team leader say you want a full update? Do you know what to expect from him? And when?

Mixed messages confuse people and create chaos. If the leader's actions do not match what he says, people feel they are used and motivated. Also remember how much your communication is consistent with the given values ​​and priorities. If you say that transparency is a value, communication style should reflect this. Solid communication enhances clarity and often helps to stay in the message and to stay consistent. However, this is also the most difficult principle to follow.
